There’s something about urgency and feeling like you’re going to lose someone. Over a decade of friendship, and it could be gone in an instant. Things are hazy, but I still remember whispers, scents, and blurry images. And then I remember having clarity waking up. There are many moments where I feel like my life is mimicking the movies. Most of them are moments in transit - the cliche looking-out-the-train-window scene. This was a new movie scene for me. The waking up in a strange bed. The waiting for the sun to rise. The staring at you sleep in hopes of finding self-reflection. The walking around like what’s yours is mine.
But only for that moment in time.
Yup, these will probably follow me for a while.
